GOOD TO KNOW

Questions and Answers

Here you find answers to the questions we hear most about our editions: prices, originals, framing, buying and where the money goes.

PRICES

What does an edition cost?

A piece of Edition No. 1 costs CHF 380, excluding VAT, for both idyll and cosmic. The two framed pieces cost CHF 580. The price is the same for everyone. Delivery is not included.

What do I get as a member?

You do not need to be a member to buy an edition. Your fee helps fund the next edition and its artist. Members pay half the event price and get priority on waiting lists. An individual membership costs CHF 150 a year.

ORIGINAL OR COPY

Is my piece an original?

Yes. Every piece of Edition No. 1 is an original work, made by hand by Daniel C. Müller. Each piece is unique. No further pieces will be made.

Is it a print of an existing artwork?

No. The artist developed the work for this edition, together with the club. It exists in no other form.

Do I get a certificate?

idyll is on kozo paper, which cannot be signed or numbered, so each piece comes with a certificate. cosmic is signed and numbered by the artist.

FRAMING

Does the edition come framed?

Most pieces come unframed, idyll in a folder and cosmic in a box. Two pieces come framed, at CHF 580: cosmic Nr. 2 and idyll Nr. 8.

What should I look out for when framing?

Ask your framer for UV-protective glass and acid-free materials, and hang the work out of direct sunlight.

How to buy

How does the purchase work?

All pieces go on sale at the same time. Choose a piece in the shop and buy it directly. Pieces go in the order of purchase.

Can I buy without being a member?

Yes. Everyone can buy at the same price, as long as pieces are available.

How many pieces can I buy?

You choose your piece yourself in the shop.

How do I receive the work?

We hand over the works at our events, or we arrange the handover with you directly. Delivery is not included in the price.

Where the money goes

What happens with the proceeds?

Part of the proceeds goes to the artist. Production costs are covered. What remains goes into the next edition and into events for our members.

What has changed at the club?

We now publish editions with artists instead of buying existing works. This supports artists more directly and lets you own a piece yourself. The works the club has bought so far stay in the MBA building for now.

Edition No. 1 is by Daniel C. Müller. Read more about him and the two editions on the Edition No. 1 page.

The artist

How do you choose the artists?

We look for artists who work in Switzerland and already have first traction. That means first exhibitions and possibly a first gallery cooperation, but no major gallery representation yet. An art committee makes the selection. If you are interested, get in touch through our contact form.
